“We have great support in San Francisco,” President Donald Trump announced during a press conference on crime in cities across the United States. “I am going to be strongly recommending, at the request of government officials, that you start looking at San Francisco….it’s a mess…,” Trump said while standing with Attorney General Pam Bondi, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, and FBI Director Kash Patel.

The Globe has extensively reported on the surging crime in San Francisco.
In 2023, a memo from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) recommended that the hundreds of federal workers in San Francisco should work from home because of escalating crime and safety concerns. The memo was brought to the public during the weekend, highlighting the growing number of tenants unhappy with the worsening conditions of the area.
Since the late 2010’s, San Francisco has quickly fallen from being a tech and business haven to being one of the fastest declining cities in the country. A major rise in crime, an undermanned police department, an ongoing homeless problem, a growing drug abuse epidemic, high rent costs, a high cost of living, a huge number of tech industry layoffs, and a growing vacancy crisis have all hit the city at once, with the COVID-19 pandemic only amplifying the problem in the early 2020s.
Also in 2023, the CEO of Gumps, a luxury home furnishings store in downtown, penned a one-page open letter to city officials and Governor Gavin Newsom. “In an astounding full-page open letter in the San Francisco Chronicle, a venerable San Francisco business that’s been open for 165 years warned it may have to shut down because of deteriorating street conditions, crime, and inept city leadership,” Golden Gate Media reported.
“San Francisco now suffers from a ‘tyranny of the minority’ —behavior and actions of the few that jeopardize the livelihood of the many,” Gump’s CEO John Chachas warned, “But we believe failed public policies must be abandoned and a renewed focus must be brought to restore the city we all love.”
Safeway, Walgreens, Whole Foods, and Amazon are just a few of the many businesses that have closed due to rising crime related to rampant theft and open-air drug use.

Last month, the Globe reported that San Francisco residents are suing city officials to stop the distribution of “harm reduction kits.”
Tenderloin residents sue SF in effort to stop distribution of harm reduction kits, a headline at ABC7 says about San Francisco Democrats assisting homeless drug addict vagrants living on the city streets with free drug paraphernalia.
“At the Phoenix Hotel, one of the businesses involved in the suit, ‘people who appear to be gang members now openly sell fentanyl and other potent drugs,’ per the filing,” the Daily Mail reported. Worse yet, “The iconic hotel recently announced its decision to close, citing the untenable conditions of the neighborhood as one of the reasons why.”
“The claimants say they are not looking for a payout, but want a preliminary injunction that bars the city from distributing drug kits. David Chiu, the city attorney, is fighting to allow the practice to continue.”
Chiu, a far-left politician and former San Francisco Supervisor and state Assemblyman, is now fighting to continue handing out drug paraphernalia to drug addicts.
Today Governor Gavin Newsom, citing city data, claimed crime was down in the city, yet the data he shares is only related to homicides. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the city has logged “only” 19-27 homicides in the first nine months of this year.
Crime is down in San Francisco thanks to @CHP_HQ's ongoing efforts with local partners to seize illicit drugs and remove firearms from our streets.
With strong state investments and community partnerships, our work to make our neighborhoods safer and more secure is paying off. https://t.co/gBKLu3R0fl

Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff ,in an interview with The New York Times published on Friday, supported President Trump’s plan to send federal troops to San Francisco, home to the Salesforce headquarters.
“We don’t have enough cops, so if they can be cops, I’m all for it,” Benioff told the Times.
On Sunday, Tesla CEO Elon Musk posted on X that sending in federal troops to San Franscisco is “the only solution at this point. Nothing else has or will work.” On Saturday, Musk referred to San Franscisco as a “drug zombie apocalypse.”

The Voice of San Francisco’s survey reveals that President Trump’s federal surge to tackle the fentanyl crime epidemic is supported by over 80 percent of respondents.
The Voice of San Francisco reports:
Our city’s bohemian legacy is now facing the unintended consequences of Proposition 47 and a judicial merry-go-round that spins serial fentanyl dealers back on our streets. The Proposition 47 fallout decriminalized fentanyl, fueling addictions, homelessness, and a retail exodus that has gutted our commercial heart. Yet, San Francisco’s county judges are not alone in their leniency.
Even in a city renowned for its bleeding heart, there is a breaking point, a collective exasperation with those who weaponize our compassion to fuel a crisis that claims lives young and old, drawn to our streets by cheap drugs and lax enforcement. But if deportations are not working, San Franciscans are urging effective collaboration among city, county, and federal authorities to curb the fentanyl crisis. This is not a partisan plea but a resolute demand to transcend political divides and wrest control from the fentanyl epidemic ravaging our city’s soul. The path forward is clear — unity, not discord, will reclaim San Francisco’s promise.

Yesterday, San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie’s said his administration is “focused on clean and safe streets.”
“We created the @SFPD Hospitality Zone Task Force to keep our commercial districts safe and launched our Rebuilding the Ranks plan to get our police department back to full staffing. We passed a Fentanyl State of Emergency Ordinance and launched our Breaking the Cycle plan to fundamentally transform our response to the behavioral health crisis and get people off the street.
Today, crime is down nearly 30% citywide and at its lowest point in decades. Car break-ins are at 22-year lows, and homicides are on track to hit 70-year lows. We are adding police officers and sheriff’s deputies for the first time in a decade. We have a record low number of encampments on our streets, and overdose deaths are down 39% from January. We can keep San Francisco safe, and our new approach is beginning to deliver real results,” the Mayor announced on X.
Despite the Mayor’s attempts, the next likely showdown between Governor Gavin Newsom and President Trump will be on the streets of San Francisco, with San Francisco residents and CEO’s supporting federal intervention to clean up another mess created by Democrats.

Governor Newsom claims crime is down; Elon Musk claims San Francisco is a ‘drug zombie apocalypse’
Newsom is a pathological liar and Elon Musk is correct!
I welcome the federal commitment to clean up the streets and go after the drug kingpins. If they know what is good for them they will self deport back to Honduras!
Wouldn”t it be nice for the residents to be able to safley walk their neighbors, ride Bart or for goodness sake, shop at a grocery store without being accosted by zombies and verrrry bad odors, drug dealers and theives!
Make San Francisco Safe Again or for the first time in decades!
The politicians looked the other way and left the citizens behind a long time ago!
It’s surprising that many residents of the dystopian Democrat controlled city of San Francisco say that they would support federal intervention to clean up the mess that San Francisco has become under Democrat rule?
As for Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff, the Democrat megadonor who claimed in an interview that he supports President Trump’s plan to send federal troops to San Francisco, the Gateway Pundit reported today that from 2022 to 2024, the Salesforce Foundation, the company’s 501(c)(3) offshoot, directly gave various Tides Foundation entities a total of $27.4 million in grant money, according to tax filings. In doing so, Salesforce has been indirectly funding violent Democrat aligned groups like Antifa and the anti-ICE protesters.
Breitbart reported that Benioff bragged that Salesforce cut its support staff from 9,000 employees to 5,000, because AI replaced the jobs of 4,000 Salesforce workers which comes after 7,000 positions were eliminated in 2024. Benioff had attended the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland, in 2024 where he laughably cautioned against the potential dangers of unchecked AI.
Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff shouldn’t be trusted and he probably has an ulterior motive?
“Tyranny of the minority”
100% true. They think by claiming crime is down, people will believe that, instead of their lying eyes.
It’s not working.
