Is Public Policy Driven by People or Profit?

Should the spouses of elected officials and associated legal representatives be collaborating on external business endeavors?

By Adina Flores, May 10, 2023 7:18 am

Throughout the Biden Administration’s tenure, our nation has witnessed prominent influence by external charitable groups which did not publicly disclose their donors, or those they substantially funded. By influencing the media, legislature and the general public, these controversial “nonprofits” appear to act as dark money organizations which conduct President Biden’s bidding.

As reported by CNBC, “Lincoln Project co-founder Reed Galen ran little known dark money group as super PAC’s dealings face scrutiny.”

The Lincoln Project is an American political action committee (PAC) which was formed in late 2019 by former and current moderate Republicans. The group originated to advocate for the 2020 presidential election, and aimed to prevent the re-election of Donald Trump and defeat Republican U.S. Senators running for re-election who had supported Trump. In the spring of 2020, the committee endorsed Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden.

As Co-founder of the Lincoln Project, Mr. Galen considers himself to be an independent political strategist. Per The Lincoln Project’s website, Galen has previous experience working directly in The White House.” Before moving to the private sector, he served as Deputy Campaign Manager for John McCain’s presidential campaign and Deputy Campaign Manager for Arnold Schwarzenegger’s successful 2006 re-election campaign. Galen also worked on both the 2000 and 2004 campaigns of President George W. Bush. Between campaigns, Galen spent a year at the White House and served the Bush Administration at both the U.S. Department of the Treasury and the Department of Homeland Security.”

According to CNBC:

“The group, Project Yellowstone, filed a 990 disclosure to the Internal Revenue Service that lists Galen as the principal officer, with a Park City, Utah address. Galen’s consulting firm, Summit Strategic Communications, is based out of the same city in Utah, according to his LinkedIn account. The group’s website says it is a 501(c)(4) that was created to educate voters on how to vote in person or by mail in the 2020 presidential election during the peak of the coronavirus pandemic. Documents show that Galen’s Lincoln Project and Project Yellowstone were directly linked. Although this partnership is not illegal, the arrangement could have allowed behind the scenes payments to firms with ties to the super PAC’s leadership or other vendors that often did work with the Lincoln Project.”

“The Lincoln Project has already come under scrutiny for paying vendors with ties to the committee’s leadership, including millions to a firm founded by Galen himself. There are also questions about which subcontractors the Lincoln Project paid that might not have been publicly disclosed.”

Also referenced as Co-executive Directors of Project Yellowstone were Greg Jenkins and Erin Dobson.

Mr. Greg Jenkins echoes Mr. Galen’s ties to The White House, as they served in the Bush Administration simultaneously in the early 2000’s. He was employed from 2003-2004 as Deputy Assistant to the President, and from 2001-2003 as Office of Global Communications. As a communications expert, Mr. Jenkins was tasked with drafting communications to counter the war on terror, and implement inter-coalition strategy between Washington D.C., Pakistan, Kabul and Afghanistan.

Not to be forgotten, Ms. Dobson also served alongside Mr. Galen and Mr. Jenkins in The White House. As referenced from Ms. Dobson’s LinkedIn profile, she “served as press advance representative for President George H.W. Bush (1988-1992) and President George W. Bush (2000-2004); Executive Director for the G8 Summit Host Committee, Sea Island, GA; Deputy Director of Press Advance for the Dole for President Campaign (1996).”

Ms. Dobson & Mr. Jenkins have stayed well connected through their endeavors, as they collectively founded North Bay Strategies consulting firm. While the expansive list itemized in their client portfolio includes major global corporations such as Alibaba, it also includes The White House, the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Commerce. Mr. Jenkins was previously the Director of Corporate Affairs at the Alibaba Group. While it is unclear if North Bay Strategies is actively operating, as of April 2023, Mr. Jenkins has committed to a new role as Managing Director of The Next Solutions Group (NSG).

There is presently no indication of Mr. Jenkins’ new venture within his LinkedIn profile, nor on the “team” page for NGS. According to the firm’s website, they specialize partly in congressional investigations, government inquiries and criminal investigations. Mr. Jenkins’ spouse, Robert Pittman serves as County Counsel to the County of Sonoma Board of Directors. Being that the County has recently been under intense scrutiny for their lack of transparency with the general public, the stakeholders may inquire if the NGS portfolio encompassess any matters which link to the County of Sonoma, and/or the government agencies specified within the North Bay Strategies client roster.

For instance, Alibaba, a client of North Bay Strategies, previously partnered with Hello Alice, a business founded by Ms. Elizabeth McKee Gore, Sonoma County Supervisor James Gore’s wife. As indicated on the Hello Alice website, Alibaba.com awarded $500,000 in cash grants to U.S. online entrepreneurs. While it could be completely coincidental, Hello Alice partnered directly with Airbnb as well, another client of North Bay Strategies. As stated on the Airbnb website,”Airbnb is partnering with Hello Alice to offer its community of nearly a half-million diverse small business owners an interactive program designed to help them supplement their business income through hosting.”

When referring to external business dealings, should the spouses of elected officials and associated legal representatives be collaborating on external business endeavors, this may present a conflict of interest. As formerly mentioned in the Globe, Mr. John China, former President of Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) served on the Board for Hello Alice, and acted as a key investor. As outlined in the Crunchbase database, Hello Alice has received $22.5M in funding. As expressed via social media comments, Hello Alice grant applicants have repeatedly applied for funding, but received rejection letters. With such a magnitude of funding at stake, grant applicants may express concerns as to why they are continually denied.

When delving further into the realm of communications, one may discover that Ms. Erin Dobson is the Founder & CEO of her own strategic communications firm, Statements Strategy, Inc. Ms. Dobson’s client portfolio includes some familiar entities such as: The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, World Economic Forum, World Bank and The White House. Through various channels, in conjunction with Mr. Jenkins, Ms. Dobson has helped to spearhead Democrat misinformation campaigns. Given that Ms. Dobson holds international connections to parties with a vested financial interest in promoting COVID-19 inoculation campaigns, the general public may share concerns with what is actually qualified as inaccurate material.

When referring to the team at The Next Solutions Group, Chair Bob Pearson formerly served in Global Executive Leadership positions at Novartis, Chief Executive Officer Ray Kerins previously served in Global Executive Leadership positions at Bayer, Pfizer, and Merck, Managing Director, Global Media Engagement Dan Childs previously served as Director, U.S. External Communications at Bayer, and Senior Advisor John Clark previously served as the Former Head of Global Security, Pfizer, and Former Deputy Assistant of Secretary Department of Homeland Security. It is interesting that nearly 50% of the firm’s executive team formerly held high ranking positions at pharmaceutical corporations which may be attributed to the development of vaccines and therapeutics. Ms. Elizabeth Gore was the First Resident Entrepreneur and Vice President of Global Partnerships to the United Nations in which she launched initiatives such as Shot@Life global vaccination campaign. As we have witnessed with Ms. Dobson and Mr. Jenkins, it is not uncommon for individuals to maintain working relationships with their former teammates and employers.

While it has been declared a “conspiracy theory” by The Biden Administration, people around the globe have speculated that the COVID-19 pandemic was orchestrated in its entirety.

In October, 2019, The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, World Economic Forum and Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security collaboratively hosted Event 201, a simulation exercise on a worldwide corona epidemic. As stated on the John Hopkins website,”the exercise illustrated areas where public/private partnerships will be necessary during the response to a severe pandemic in order to diminish large-scale economic and societal consequences.”

Dacre Knight, MD, published a 2021 study in the Southern Medical Journal which signifies that SARS-CoV-2 may have been a bioweapon.

Dr. Knight reported:

“In March 2020, the US Department of State summoned the Chinese ambassador to protest statements of a Chinese spokesperson, who suggested that the virus was brought to Wuhan by the US military, allegedly as a bioweapon. Then, a US senator suggested that the virus resulted from a botched Chinese bioweapons program. Palestinian media argued that SARS-CoV-2 was a biological weapon being used by the US and Israel against China and Iran. Other US officials suspected that the virus came from a Wuhan laboratory that was performing legitimate viral research because safety concerns had been previously identified at this laboratory. As time went on, concern grew because China was found to be censoring the results of research into the origins of the pandemic.”

Purchase orders housed in the Federal Procurement Data System have piqued curiosity in relation to the pandemic’s roots. On January 19, 2017, a P.O. was prepared between the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Biosearch Technologies, Inc. of Petaluma, Sonoma County, CA to develop laboratory equipment for the “Novel Coronavirus.”

According to the University of Maryland School of Medicine, “a novel coronavirus is a new coronavirus that has not been previously identified. The virus causing coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), is not the same as the coronaviruses that commonly circulate among humans and cause mild illness, like the common cold.”

LGC Biosearch Technologies was established in 1978 by the original founder and current CSO, Ron Cook, PHD. As referenced on the Biosearch website, “most notably in 1982, Kary Mullis then at Cetus Corporation, used a Biosearch SAM I DNA synthesizer to create oligos for use in his experiments, which eventually resulted in the discovery of the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR).”

As of March 10, 2020, per 360Dx, “a lot of kits from LGC Biosearch Technologies has been validated at the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and is now authorized for emergency use in the detection of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes coronavirus disease COVID-19.” These Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) products were developed and approved at warp speed considering that President Donald Trump’s Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar first declared a public health emergency on Jan. 31, 2020, and Trump declared the COVID-19 pandemic a national emergency that March.

A multitude of “Fact Check” articles have cited quotes from Mr. Kary Mullis regarding the effectiveness of PCR tests to detect a virus. As cited from Yahoo News, Mullis had previously stated “anyone can test positive for practically anything with a PCR test, if you run it long enough with PCR if you do it well, you can find almost anything in anybody. It doesn’t tell you that you’re sick.” This particular fact checking article implies that Mullis’ statement was in reference to HIV rather than COVID-19, and has no correlation to the novel coronavirus. Unfortunately for concerned citizens, Mr. Mullis’ death occurred in August 2019, just a few months prior to the announcement of the global health threat. We no longer have the opportunity to seek clarification as to whether the PCR tests are non-functional for detecting the aforementioned virus.

I was previously employed as the Executive Assistant to the Board & Superintendent of Santa Rosa City Schools. In December 2021, I was informed by my employer that my Color Health / PerkinElmer PCR test results indicated that I was positive for COVID-19. This information was shocking to me as we had the ability to self administer our tests, I never stuck the swab up my nostril, and simply placed it directly into the vial. The disclaimer provided by Color Health that was included with my results stated the following: “The SARS-CoV-2 RT-PCR amplification test is not FDA approved; it is a laboratory-developed test (LDT). The FDA has determined that emergency use authorization (EUA) review of SARS-CoV-2 LDTs is not required at this time. This test was developed and its performance characteristics determined by the CDPH Branch Laboratory, Valencia, CA. It has not been cleared or approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The FDA has determined that such clearance or approval is not necessary.”

“Disclaimer: False positive results may occur due to potential cross-contamination by target organisms, their nucleic acid or amplified product, or from non-specific signals in the assay. This SARS-CoV-2 RT-PCR test does not detect or differentiate any other respiratory virus types. Results from this test should be interpreted in conjunction with other clinical and laboratory findings.”

I immediately reached out to my employer and the County of Sonoma Health Services division to inquire about the course of action for false positive tests. I did not receive a response, and was informed by the County of Sonoma that I would be arrested over the Christmas break if I were to leave my house, and violate the health order.

According to a 2022 article published by CapRadio, “the Newsom administration has quietly ordered the closure of its central COVID-19 testing laboratory, cutting short a controversial no-bid contract worth up to $1.7 billion with global health care giant PerkinElmer.”

After numerous whistleblower complaints were brought forth regarding mishandling specimens, mismanagement, destroying documents and data and significant deficiencies at the Valencia Lab, the CDPH was tasked with conducting an investigation. As referenced by Fox40,”in their investigation findings… CDPH said it could not substantiate claims that documents and data were destroyed and that the lab had corrected other deficiencies.”

According to CBS News, “The rate of inconclusive tests from the CDPH-PerkinElmer lab is seven and a half times higher than the other 22 COVID labs combined. Of the labs with inconclusive results, state data reveals one out of every 256 results comes back inconclusive. One out of every 34 results from the CDPH-PerkinElmer lab is inconclusive according to data provided by CDPH.” The negligence of the lab may lead the public to believe that the COVID-19 case rates were possibly inflated or inaccurate.

Given that billionaire philanthropist Bill Gates has a background in computer programming, his Event 201 predictions for economic and societal collapse following a pandemic are extraordinary. Mr. Gates’ investment portfolio happens to include Ginkgo Bioworks, a rather new biotech start-up company which played a key role in COVID-19 testing. As of November 2020, the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation provided a $1.1 billion loan to Ginkgo Bioworks to facilitate the mass production of key raw materials for vaccines and to support the expansion of COVID-19 testing capacity. While the coincidences seem to never end, the people continue to question if parts of or the entirety of the pandemic were predetermined.

When government and corporate interests intersect and overlap, do the policies enacted by legislature have the best interests of the constituents in mind, or solely our nation’s elitists (a.k.a. the 1%)?

  1. To answer Katy’s important question at the end, the answer is No!
They can tell citizens that a private/public partnership is what is good for the country.
In most and recent cases it is not. It leads to concentrated power of the anointed technocrats and oligarchs.
Bill Gates and Zuckerbucks, are real examples of how these partnerships go south.
