Who Are California’s Winners and Losers of 2020?

We’ve made a list, and checked it twice, but there must be more

While 2020 has been a perfectly horrible year thanks to abusive politicians, the gross mismanagement of the coronavirus, job loss and business closures, and the tanking of the economy, not all politicians are corrupt or obsessed with power.

However, the top California winners and losers of 2020 are politicians:

Winners are Assemblyman Kevin Kiley and Assemblyman James Gallagher for their lawsuit against Gov. Gavin Newsom challenging his emergency authority powers during the coronavirus shutdown. They say California’s Constitution has an explicit separation-of-powers provision, which Gov. Newsom has violated. “A California Governor is constitutionally forbidden from doing the very thing Gov. Newsom has done here: exercise legislative powers.” Only the Legislature can pass laws.

Kiley has also written a book titled Recall Newsom: The Case Against America’s Most Corrupt Governor. “Newsom has been attacking me with artless demagoguery all year,” Kiley said. “He’s claimed that by fighting his dictatorial rule I’m attempting ‘to prematurely declare an end to this ongoing crisis’ or ‘throwing into chaos efforts to combat wildfires.'”

This leads to the biggest Loser 2020: California Governor Gavin Newsom.

As Kiley says, “it’s all of us Newsom plans to smear. He’s repeatedly tried to blame the people of California for his own worst-in-the-nation COVID performance, saying things like ‘don’t be selfish’ and ‘not everyone is practicing common sense.’”

Now for the rest of the California Winners 2020:

  • Assemblyman Jim Patterson (R-Fresno) for his dogged determination to get an audit of the corrupt and incompetent Employment Development Department, and for his straight talk.
  • Sacramento Sheriff Scott Jones for leading the other County Sheriffs throughout the state who said they would not use their departments to enforce the governor’s lockdown orders.
  •  Sacramento County DA Anne Marie Schubert and El Dorado County DA Vern Pierson, together with the many California District Attorneys across the state who exposed the massive unemployment benefits fraud in jails and prisons in California. “This is perhaps the biggest fraud on taxpayers in California history,” DA Schubert said.
  • Rep. Tom McClintock (R-CA) for always being the voice of reason in a state and country gone mad, with his consistent message that “Freedom Works.”
  • Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) for his revolutionary fighting spirit, often referred to as the the hero of exposing the Russian hoax, and honoring the people of his district.
  • A reader said the RecallGavin2020 campaign is a big winner.
  • The three John Muir Hospital physicians, Dr. Michael deBoisblanc, Dr. Pete Mazolewski and Dr. Brian Hopkins, who recently sent a letter to Dr. Chris Farnitano, Contra Costa Public Health Doctor, challenging several crucial issues surrounding the state and county health officials’ handling the COVID-19 virus in California, and the data being manipulated to keep Californians in lockdown. “We feel the science is clear that more lockdowns lead to much more non covid morbidity and mortality as supported by the CDC,” they said in the letter. Dr. deBoisblanc was vindictively terminated from his job as Trauma Medical Director for John Muir Health.
  • Attorneys Harmeet Dhillon and Mark Meuser for their 17 lawsuits exposing Gov. Gavin Newsom as grossly abusing his emergency powers, since he ordered the state locked down for COVID-19 in March.
  • The 51,970 medical and public health scientists and medical practitioners from around the world who signed the Great Barrington Declaration outlining how the current lockdown policies are producing devastating effects on short and long-term public health.
  • Tesla founder Elon Musk for having the courage of his convictions and moving his company to Texas, after warning Gov. Newsom that he would take his 10,000 jobs and leave California if the business lockdown was not ended.
  • Assemblyman Adam Gray (D-Modesto) for standing up for his constituents over Central Valley water policy, rather than caving to his party’s lockstep politics. He was stripped of his committee chairmanship by Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon for it.
  • Harvest Rock Church and the Thomas More Society for challenging the governor’s executive orders imposing lockdowns since March, specifically targeting and discriminating against houses of worship in California.
  • Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, a suburb of Los Angeles and its Pastor John MacArthur, for deciding to reopen the church, as explained in a detailed statement, titled “Christ, Not Caesar, Is Head of the Church: A Biblical Case for the Church’s Duty to Remain Open.”
  • How could we leave out Pastor Rob McCoy, who resigned his position on the Thousand Oaks City Council on principle, and is helping educate people about the plandemic fallout and risk to our Constitutional freedoms with his church’s nightly “Fireside Chats” on YouTube, as a reader reminded us? And Kurt Cameron’s organization of peaceful protests of the lockdown prohibitions.
  • The city councils of Beverly Hills, Paso Robles and Solvang for voting to remain open, despite the governor’s regional lockdown and business closure orders.
  • Small business owners fighting for their rights to run their businesses: Pomp Hair Salon owners Vicki Kirk and Dino Ballin, San Francisco Salon owner Erica Kious, Pineapple Hill Saloon and Grill owner Angela Marsden, all of the gym owners who have diligently opened up outdoors, and all of the honest, hard working and dedicated business owners in California who are trying to keep food on the table and support their employees.
  • Ward Connerly for fighting a winning battle once again, defeating affirmative action and Proposition 16. Connerly is the father of The California Civil Rights Initiative, known as Proposition 209, which protects us from discrimination. Proposition 16, on the November ballot, would have repealed Prop. 209 and divided Californians by making discrimination legal in the state. Connerly put together an amazing team creating Californians for Equal Rights.
  • Young Kim and Michelle Steel, both Korean-American women, ran successful Orange County congressional races, winning both the 39th and 48th Congressional Districts. The GOP had a strong showing and benefited from the diverse appeal of Steel and Kim, and both benefitted from the Republican backlash in Orange County, after the 2018 ballot harvesting scheme flipped seven GOP congressional seats. The Kim and Steel Asian voting base also greatly benefitted Ward Connerly’s defeat of Prop. 16.
  • Rep. Mike Garcia (R-CA) defeated Assemblywoman Christy Smith (D-Santa Clarita) in the 25th Congressional District race by only 300 votes. And he did this after only 6 months in Congress. Garcia won the 25th District in a special election in May of 2020 following the resignation of then-Rep. Katie Hill’s huge scandal including inappropriate sexual relationships with staffers.
  • House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) for his election strategy to flip California congressional seats back to Republicans from Democrats.
  • Abraham Lincoln, General Robert E. Lee, John Sutter, George Washington, Teddy Roosevelt, California Governor Pete Wilson, Christopher Columbus, and Father Junipero Serra: because despite the toxic cancel culture toppling their statues and destroying tributes to their patriotism, heroics, and commitment to the United States, their important places in history cannot and will not be cancelled.

California Losers of 2020:

  • Gov. Gavin Newsom for the reasons stated above, and many many more, including getting caught recently dining in Napa Valley at a large dinner party at the French Laundry, violating his own COVID stay-at-home orders. Proving just how arbitrary his lock downs are, the governor also allowed strip clubs and bath houses to remain open while other businesses were forced to close and convicted criminals were being let out of prison. In Gov. Gavin Newsom’s California business owners are fined and arrested for being open and doing business, while convicted criminals are let out of jails and prisons.
  • But Wait! There’s More! Speaker Pelosi for Salongate; San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo for Thanksgivinggate; San Francisco Mayor London Breed also for French Laundrygate; Los Angeles County Supervisor Sheila Kuehl for outdoor mealgate; the Santa Barbara School District for allowing the children of teachers and district employees to return to in-class learning, in a secret carve-out exemption; U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein photographed numerous times walking through airports without a mask on. Hmmm, where are these elitist politicians spending New Years Eve 2020?
  • Health and Human Services Secretary Dr. Mark Ghaly, for violating the Hippocratic Oath, “first, do no harm.” Lockdowns are killing people, destroying businesses, and harming the state’s children who aren’t attending school because of the ordered closures, and Dr. Ghaly has gone along with Gov. Newsom’s diabolical scheme since March for a pandemic virus with a 0.017 U.S. death rate.
  • Every County Public Health official involved in keeping their counties locked down, violating the Hippocratic Oath, for a pandemic virus with a 0.017 U.S. death rate, rather than focusing on helping the most vulnerable in their counties.
  • Law enforcement officials who arrest Californians and business owners refusing to obey the unlawful lockdown orders, such as The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department which made 235 arrests targeting underground parties, calling these “super-spreader” events.
  • Department of Consumer Affairs police force for raiding a Stockton hair salon last week, wearing body armor. The salon dared to remain open for its 45 employees and clients.
  • Secretary of State Alex Padilla for the bogus $35 million Get-Out-the-Vote contract with a Team Biden contractor.
  • Black Lives Matter and Antifa thugs for destroying small businesses all across the state.
  • The California Legislature, and especially Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon and Senate President Toni Atkins for abdicating their legislative powers to Gov. Gavin Newsom during this 9-month lockdown. The one bright note however, is with the Legislature largely absent since March, the people of California now realize that we don’t need them.
  • Most county supervisors who could have and should have pushed back against Gov. Newsom’s draconian lockdown and business shutdown orders.
  • Assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez (D-San Diego), the author of Assembly Bill 5, the bill which has limited Californians’ ability to work as independent contractors and freelancers.
  • Sen. Scott Wiener (D-San Francisco) for being the most tone deaf, insensitive lawmaker during this statewide crisis, authoring and passing laws for climate change, racial justice, drug use sites in San Francisco, high density housing, and LGBTQ issues, while the city has had upwards of 800 people die from drug overdoses this year, while only 173 people died from COVID-19. The City by the Bay lockdown should have been about heroin and fentanyl overdose deaths, and not COVID.
  • Assemblyman Rob Bonta (D-Contra Costa) for authoring the wealth tax bill which will follow people for 10 years who leave the state, and another bill to force District Attorneys to recuse themselves from police use of force cases.
  • All of the California lawmakers who flew to Maui for their “annual Maui junket,” despite the State of Hawaii’s explicit travel restrictions.
  • Sacramento County Supervisors approved a resolution “declaring racism as a public health crisis in Sacramento County.”
  • New Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascón, and his billionaire oligarch funder George Soros, who funded more than $2.5 million of Gascón’s race for Los Angeles District Attorney. Gascón ran as a “reformer” portraying police as agents of a racist law enforcement system that imprisons more blacks and minorities, and targets blacks and minorities for police harassment and abuse.
  • Congressman Eric Swalwell and his Chi-Comm honey pot spy Christine Fang Fang, in what U.S. officials believe was a political intelligence operation run by China’s main civilian spy agency between 2011 and 2015. We ask once again, “Why is Eric Swalwell Still on House Intel Committee after Chinese Spy Exposé?”
  • Mark Zuckerberg (Facebook), Jack Dorsey (Twitter), and Sundar Pichai (Google), for lying, cheating and disinformation on their social media “platforms,” while attempting to overthrow the President of the United States, and their assist in the 2020 election fraud.
  • Lobbyist Jason Kinney and the California Medical Association top dogs for being a part of French Laundrygate, while the rest of California was locked down.
  • Sacramento Mayor Darrell Steinberg for pushing yet another attempt at a “strong mayor” city charter amendment, after four previous attempts had already been voted down by Sacramento voters; supporting defunding of Sacramento police, authorizing the police stand down during city riots, and Calling Sacramento residents “NIMBYs” after threatening city residents with tent cities in their neighborhoods.
  • UPDATE: An astute CA Globe reader added Eric Garcetti “who lords over LA Country like a junior Newsom. From robbing the LAPD budget of a 150 million to create some bogus council that will just fill his buddies pockets with cash, to plumping numbers of covid, forcing mask use despite zero proof they do anything to prevent infection, to buckling to the teachers’ union, to sending enforcement goons to small businesses that dare to try to survive, he gets the #2 spot of biggest losers and grifters.”

California Globe readers, feel free to add your winners and losers in the comments – we want to hear from you!

Happy New Year, and let’s hope that in 2021 California residents demand their lives back, and call on the governor to end the fraudulent statewide lockdown.

  • Losers, those who are enabling our governor and not helping fellow Californians by exposing his fraud and lack of science he keeps touting as the reason for his decisions. I hope I never again see such poor leadership.

  • What about Pastor Rob McCoy, who resigned his position on the Thousand Oaks City Council on principle, and is helping educate people about the plandemic fallout and risk to our Constitutional freedoms with his church's nightly "Fireside Chats" on YouTube.
Also Kurt Cameron's organization of peaceful protests of the lockdown prohibitions???

    Great list otherwise!!!

    Tom McClintock for CA Governor!!!

  • What about John Moorlach, pictured with Governor Greaseball, who lost his election in a district probably served by Dominion Voting Systems or one of their shell company variants???

If McClintock won't run for Governor after the successful recall of Hairtrap Newsom, Moorlach should...

  • Add the owner of Tin Horn Flats in Burbank to the list of restaurant/bars that are fighting the lockdown please. It's a daunting task.

  • I don't think looser is strong enough for Newsom. Out of 1.4 million doses of vaccine distributed to CA, only 335,000 have been given. This is obscene. Newsom had 6 months to put together a plan. Of course he has no problem telling the rest of us what to do. Maybe he should work on what he is supposed to do as governor.

  • Great list. Though I was surprised not to see Eric Garcetti who lords over LA Country like a junior Newsom. From robbing the LAPD budget of a 150 million to create some bogus council that will just fill his buddies pockets with cash, to plumping numbers of covid, forcing mask use despite zero proof they do anything to prevent infection, to buckling to the teachers' union, to sending enforcement goons to small businesses that dare to try to survive, he gets the #2 spot of biggest losers and grifters.

  • The losers are all the legal California taxpayers the winners are all the border jumpers and criminals who roam the state subsidized by our tax dollars

  • How can we forget about the 10% reduction in California govt pay that was discussed early on by the Governor that never materialized? Oh, but the govt unions didn’t like it so while the private sector, who pays the salaries is these govt workers, were forced to suffer, lose their jobs and lose their businesses al govt jobs were secure. Something has to be done about the state’s out of control labor costs!

  • WINNERS: All the people standing up to protect their rights by signing the RECALL GAVIN 2020 petition. End the scam-demic NOW!! With the top of the list award going to Jennifer Oliver O’Connell for her strong voice against greasy Gavin aka Governor hair gel.

  • Loesser’s: All the mindless blue sheep that automatically vote Democrat. Wake up and think or you will have George Gascon as your district attorney.
