Theater Kids Have Taken Over Weather Forecasting

‘Blazing sunshine,’ and ‘Sizzling sunshine,’ forecasted today in Sacramento

When did radio and television meteorologists and weather forecasters become theater kids?

Everyday for the last few months, a radio meteorologist broadcasting on KFBK in Sacramento has declared the sun is “blazing” and “sizzling,” dramatically declaring how hot it will be.

“Blazing sunshine” is forecasted today.

“Sizzling sunshine,” rounded out today’s weather prediction.

Why not “blistering,” fiery,” or “red-hot” sunshine?

So what is today’s weather in Sacramento, CA?

“Mid-90’s to low triple digits today,” says the radio weather guy.

OMG – shelter in place.

It’s late summer, early fall in Sacramento. I am a native. We call this seasonally normal. It’s often hot right up to Halloween, when the weather almost immediately cools to fall temps.

Here are the averages and records for weather in Sacramento, California in the month of October, according to Extreme Weather Watch:

You can see that it’s been as high as 104 degrees in October, and as low as 34 degrees.

Where did this drama come from?

NBC’s Al Roker Tells Viewers that the Reason It Gets So Cold Now in the U.S. During the Winter Is Because of Global Warming.

He says the same about heat. “We’re watching climate change make things hotter,” NBC News meteorologist Al Roker says when reporting on the record-breaking temperatures scorching the Pacific Northwest:

California Governor Gavin Newson talks frequently about how the hots are getting hotter, and more extreme due to climate change:

Governor Newsom claims “extreme wildfire threats” as if he’s ever prioritized wildfire mitigation in his “meeting the moment” rhetoric:

“As the climate crisis brings more sudden and extreme wildfire threats to California, we’re meeting the moment with state-of-the-art firefighting technology and fire prevention work. Our extraordinary firefighters continue to step up to protect communities up and down our state.”

I replied on X:

BS Alert: California has had seasonal wildfires for centuries – long before European settlement – driven by its Mediterranean climate, vegetation, and natural ignition sources – and not Gavin Newsom’s faux ‘climate crisis’. Native Californians used controlled burns to manage landscapes, promote certain plants, and reduce fuel buildup, which helped prevent larger, more destructive fires. Imagine if Gov. Newsom tried this again.

And, 95% of wildfires are started by humans. This includes power lines/utilities, equipment, arson, debris burning, campfires, cigarettes, and vehicles. Lightning accounts for the rest, mostly in remote higher-elevation areas.

“Extreme heat.”

“Extreme wildfire threats.”

“Climate in Crisis“

So today, in Northern California, will be hot with highs in the 90’s to somewhere near 100 degrees.

Except it won ‘t be over 100 degrees. They always throw that in to support their “extreme” weather predictions.

The weather guy says tonight will be cooler “with a respite from the heat.”

Oh. Thank God for that.

Tomorrow will be more “sizzling sunshine.”

The weather guy said Sacramento hit 100 degrees Tuesday. Late season heat. Heat wave. Heat advisory. Major heat risk. Extreme weather event.

Watts Up With That, the best scientific climate website in the world, notes that “Data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) do not show that California’s number of extremely hot days is increasing beyond what earlier parts of the 20th century saw, particularly the 1930s.”
